So Many Awards Shows, So Little Interest...

I admit it. I am an award show HATER! They're long, the comedy is stale, and the awards themselves mean little these days. But there is one great thing about award shows, the red carpet! Here are the winners from the VMAs, Emmy's and NAACP Theatre Awards (yes I too just found out that they existed!)

...The award? Best hair of course!

Surprise guest Rihanna at the 2010 MTV VMAs. While this hair color is def not found in nature, Rihanna manages to pull it off. Her headband if by Jennifer Behr. I'm a fan of your hair antics Rihanna, and your tutu!

The B.E.T Awards aka the Bad Ethnic Tresses Awards

The hair at the 2010 B.E.T Awards was disappointing to say the least. For the most part everyone looked a hot mess! Literally frizzy, messy, boring hair more akin to something towel dried after swimming at the pool than styled for an awards show. There were a few who did it right, but scrolling through this years red carpet pictures I felt like I was picking the best of the worst....I'm just going to blame the recession.... sigh.... And the winners are!

The Natural?

I've seen a lot of girls out and about in Washington, DC sporting "Natural" styles.... except there's a whole lot of weave happening up in that "Natural". Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the style (wit or wit/out weave), I'm a firm believer in "I am not my hair", but it is a little funny, very cute when done right, and down right horrific when done wrong.

Below find Solange Knowles and Fatima Saad (of ANTM) showcasing their naturals. I went to college with a girl of Ethiopian decent whose hair could definitely naturally produce Fatima's style and I have a good friend currently doing something similar to Solange with her natural hair.
